[About Jon]
Built for the Long Game
Jon Brel came to IMSA the hard way — earning his seat through results, not shortcuts. After a debut in the Michelin Pilot Challenge in 2024, he stepped up to the GSX class with Kingpin Racing and put the No. 81 Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2 on the podium in just his first series appearance with a P2 position Overall.
In 2026, he’s running a full championship season and building toward a win. Every lap is a step forward.

Jon Brel Claims Bronze Class Championship
Victory at Petit Le Mans secures title for Kingpin #81
Four Bronze Cup wins, a late-season charge from third in the standings, and a title sealed at Road Atlanta. Jon Brel and the No. 81 Kingpin Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 are 2026 IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge GSX Bronze Cup champions.
The challenge
A year ago, Jon Brel arrived at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for his IMSA debut and left with a podium. Twelve months later, he left the same circuit as a champion.
The 2026 GSX Bronze Cup was never handed out early. Part-time entries won the first six Bronze rounds of the year. Heading into July, Jon sat third in the standings, 80 points behind Rafa Martinez and Dan Ammann.
The turnaround
It started at home. At Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in front of a Canadian crowd, Jon took his first Bronze Cup win of the season. In August at VIRginia International Raceway, he swept both races. That weekend turned a 40-point deficit into a 110-point lead heading into the finale.
Race day at Road Atlanta
The title fight came down to the Motul Petit Le Mans weekend, on one of the biggest stages in sports car racing. In Thursday’s Race 1, Jon won the Bronze Cup again and finished third among all GSX cars, stretching his lead to 160 points.
The team behind the title
No title is won alone. The Kingpin Racing crew gave Jon a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 that got stronger as the season went on. Team principal Tyler Hoffman’s coaching sharpened every weekend. Jon came through Kingpin’s WRL driver development program, and this title proves the path works.
